Prost!

I love vintage ads. There is something so pure and artistic in the advertisement. And that includes beer ads. Check these out (see more by clicking the link at the bottom of the post).

A Different World

Erik Johansson is an amazing artist from Sweden who takes pictures and then digitally manipulates them. It's absolutely incredible. How wonderful to live in such a world of imagination!

Easter Egg Tree

My dad emailed this story to me, and I think it is just the perfect thing for Easter!

In Saalfeld, Germany, a retiree named Volker Kraft decorates his apple sapling with 9,800 decorated eggs. He started with just 18 eggs in 1965, and now the 75 year old man plans to paint 200 more hollowed out eggs for next year to make it an even 10,000 and stop at that. The Easter Tree drew 13,000 visitors last year, and you can purchase a painted egg for approximately $7.10.

What a lovely ambition, and a wonderful way to celebrate the season!

Slumber Party!

On Friday night, Little Lucy spent the night to celebrate her 8th birthday, which is actually today. Happy Birthday, Lucy!

I picked her up and we went to Stations of the Cross, during which she was very well-behaved! Then we went home and ate macaroni and cheese and played Candy Land. Afterward, she took a bubble bath in our jacuzzi (the highlight of staying at my house!). Finally, we ended the night with Edy's Thin Mint ice cream and a movie.

On Saturday we woke up early and ate a big breakfast of Lucy's choice (pancakes, bacon, orange juice, eggs and toast...and she ate it all!) in our bathrobes and towels on our heads, which she got a real kick out of. Then we dressed up to go see "Madeline" as performed by the local youth ballet.

After the wonderful ballet, we treated ourselves to Coney Island, but our bellies were still a little full from breakfast so we didn't eat very much and went shopping to get Lucy some barrettes and to Shoe Carnival.

What a great weekend!

Madeline

My little sister Lucy spent the night at our house last night, and today we went to "Madeline" as performed by the Fort Wayne Youth Ballet. What a wonderful time!

Post 200!!!

This being a momentous occasion - my 200th post - I am unveiling the first set of senior portraits I've ever taken to those of you in the internet community who have not seen them yet. My sister Jennifer was my very photogenic model. Enjoy!

Outtakes
Ms. Roboto
 We saw a bunny rabbit!
"I don't think I can get into that pose!"
I said, "Hello, Mr. Squirrel," and he stood up and posed for the camera!
I went to the car to grab the umbrella for a prop, and this was the scene when I came back. Jennifer looks rather forlorn. The squirrel tried more than once to climb into her purse.
 Finis!
