The land of the free and the home of the brave

I'm back from vacationing at Put-In-Bay (photos to come at a later date), so I am about 4 posts behind.

I hope you all had a very patriotic Independence Day. Mine began with a Red White and Blueberry Trifle and a strawberry pie.

Then off to the park to enjoy the festivities with Mom and the kids.
There was a petting zoo.
This little bitty goat was such a cutie pie...reminds me of what my goat Booger looked like when I had to bottle feed her, the sweet little runt.
$2 for a pony ride...who had a very patriotic hat!
I don't know this little girl, but she was cute and on the sweetest carousel.

We played Go Fish to keep our minds off the boiling heat!
And we ate soft serve ice cream, which melted before we even left the ice cream stand.
Kelly and Lucy boogied down while a band played in the pavilion.
The sky was beautiful.
And then the rain came, so Kelly covered up with the afghan.
Mom, Lucy and I danced square dance style in the rain, while we made fun of everyone who covered up with blankets or held their chairs upside down over their heads.
But the rain soon passed, and the fireworks began!!!

God Bless the USA!
